Bob, the food serving robot built by the Bangalore community of Kidobotikz, made a spectacular debut at VR Bengaluru on the 6th of April.

Close on the heels of this grand debut, a lot of attraction was drawn to the VR Bengaluru where hordes of crowds came to have a look at a one of a kind robot which had caught the hospitality industry by storm. To capitalise on this newborn awareness of robotics and its appeal to the younger section of the populace, VR Bengaluru in association with Kidobotikz decided to conduct a robo themed event.

The event dubbed VR RoboFest was a week long robo-themed spectacle which had robotics- themed workshops, contests and games. The event which was structured around the model of Kidobotikz’ robofests involved Kidobotikz hosting its unique Robotic games for enthusiasts from in and around the city of Bangalore.

The RoboFest was held between 25th and the 30th of April at VR Bengaluru by a team from Kidobotikz.

Several interesting games such as Robo Dribblers, Tesla Wala and Robo Sumo were conducted and offered a unique experience to the visitors.

The workshops were designed in such a way that the students received a full rounded understanding of the concepts. The workshops were of two types. The Circuit Building Workshop was based on Kidobotikz’ “Foundation” Kit and gave the learners a practical understanding of various electronic components such as real time sensors, switches, etc. They were also introduced to concepts of circuit building and circuit debugging techniques. The Robot Programming Workshop which was based on the “Advance” Kit and helped learners familiarise with the concepts of autonomy and maneuvering robots based on real time sensors

Alongside these events, there were also three robotics workshops namely, Logic Bot Workshop, Circuit Building workshop and Robot Programming Workshop.

All in all, the event saw great participation from the young citizens of Bangalore who were treated to a visual spectacle, Bob- The Robotic Butler, and an intellectually stimulating activity- the workshops.
