A couple of months back, we had reported actor Ajith had been appointed as the Helicopter Test Pilot and UAV System Adviser by the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) to launch advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) as part of the Medical Express-2018 UAV Challenge competition.
The aim of World Drone Challenge is to create an environment of simultaneous cooperation and competition that invites leading organisations and global experts to push the boundaries of drone technology beyond its current limits. We are seeking to identify new drone capabilities by exploring the potential applications made possible by increasing weight carrying capacity (Payload) and endurance. The immediate foreseeable applications include humanitarian aid, search & rescue, and emergency relief supplies to rural and regional communities in a post natural disaster environment.
The unmanned drone that the Daksha team had built has reportedly created several records including flying non-stop for 6 hours and 7 minutes..
As reported earlier, this drone can be operated using software instead of remote control, which in turn allows for accurate maneuvering and navigation. In comparison to conventional drones, the team Daksha-built drone converts petrol as a source of energy thereby allowing it to fly for a longer time.
Furthermore, it is said this drone by team Daksha is being planned to be used as an air ambulance to transport medical samples.
Impact of Local Restrictions - Partial, night, and complete lockdowns in certain parts of India.
As local governments across cities and states are taking action to stem the rapid rise in cases of Covid-19, certain restrictions are being put in place that impact delivery and warehouse operations also in certain Pin-codes.
Most of these impacts are small this time and we are working to ensure a smooth and delightful delivery experience for our customers, nevertheless there might be some delay in delivering orders in certain pin codes.
But most orders will be delivered in the stipulated time frame as we are working to further strengthen our backend logistics.
