Hey there !

We are here to announce the “Maker of the Month” for May'18 edition.

We are back with this month’s cool projects, after a lot of video watching and combing through entries, we are finally here at the moment of truth. There has been quite an inflow in terms of the number of project submissions that was made this month. It's always hard when it comes to evaluating such innovative and interesting projects. We are back with this month’s cool projects, after a lot of video watching and combing through entries, we are finally here at the moment of truth.

So, who is the “Maker” of this month??

Aditya Narayanasetti Wins the title of “Maker of the Month” for this month..

He has just completed his Expert level in BTM Maker Lab in Bangalore, his project was a quite different from all the other projects which were submitted to us. His project on autonomous railway gate has brought him this fame, he has presented the working model of his project beautifully. He has also participated in NASA AMES space settlement project.

Aditya shared few words about his project submitted to NASA - "In the year 2016-17 me and my team won the prize of an honourable mention for the project we submitted for the NASA ames space settlement project called Noahs Ark.The objective of this project was to demonstrate what would our backup plan be incase of the occurence of global apocalypse or over population. we designed a space settlement to succesfully self sustain around 25,000 people as an initiative prototype. We had included self efficient and self sustaining procedures. From agriculture to the society to the security and basically everthing we would have on earth but just better. We included the best power sources that are currently being developed and some that are still theorethical but are quite effective.since transport wouldnt be the same for within the settlement and outside the settlement we divided them in to two sectors.one sector dealed with transport system inside of the settlement.which was a series of integrated lifts for huge masses(even materials) or for just indivisuals. The other sector was for external transport and that is from our settlement to the earth or any other planet.yes, we were talking about interplanetary transport.we proposed a couple of systems and then also decided the best amoungst them on various parameters like cost, reality etc.Two interesting things we added were the warp gate ships and the quantum partice rocket. But the thing I enjoyed the most was the part were we added robots in our settlement that i designed and animated.I made robots especially for mining in space. this was because there were so many important and costly minerals that can be found in asteroids.I designed them such that the were simillar to spider robots that would drill through and attach to the asteroid and then cut through to obtain the ores. they were to be equiped with various sensors to detect what metals were present like infrared. this also allowed us to detect whether water was present or not which was again an important resource."

We at SP Robotic Works, would like to congratulate this young lad for his achievement and wishing him to reach more heights!!

Let's have a look into his autonomous railway crossing project below.

Here are the 4 easiest steps to be followed if you wish to win the award:

Step 1: Be active on the SPRW app

SPRW conducts various contests via its app and facebook pages. Regularly check the SPRW app and the SP Robotics facebook page for all conducted contests and events.

Step 2: Build a robot just in case.

Well, this is the fun part. Just build robots according to the criteria specified in the problem statement. Well, you are also welcome to display your creativity in terms of the features or components used in the robots. If you make maximum use of the components from your kits, you get special brownie points during the selection process.

Step 3: Shoot the Robot- with a camera !

Well your robot needs to be evaluated by us for you to win. So, take a video of the robot and its features and compile them into a short crisp video. Since it is going to be a monthly event, you are supposed to stick to the deadline. Oh yes, we almost forgot ! Share the video with us. Just ensure that the videos shot in a well lit environment for the robot to appear in its resplendent form!

Step 4: Patience earns goodwill !

This is the hard part. We know you will be bristling with excitement after submitting the video. We also appreciate that you will be eager to know how you fared. But, you gotta wait until we screen through all the submissions and finally declare you the winner !

 Happy Roboting !!!
