The sandy shores of Port Louis are known for the tourists, the coconuts and the beautiful coastline. It’s the perfect getaway when you are expecting to get away from the buzz of the industrial life. But, nobody said no to the drones and hums of robots on the shores. So,we decided to be it. Yes, Kidobotikz set abuzz the island of Mauritius with its roboting prowess. 3 days, 3 different sessions that evoked the “maker” spirit of the students of Mauritius.
Coming to know about the path breaking efforts of Kidobotikz in the field of STEAM education, the Mauritian Research Council (MRC) invited Kidobotikz to be a part of the ongoing Expo “Infotech 2016”. This was on day 1 of the 3-day tour. As a part of this event, Kidobotikz set up a stall displaying its line of products and showcasing to visitors the results the Kidobotikz kits have brought back home. The Director of the MRC, along with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Telecommunications paid a visit to the Kidobotikz stall. They were very impressed with the unique proposition the Kidobotikz Kits offered to the students. While this was underway, Mr.Suhail, Director, Marketing and Brand Communications, Kidobotikz gave a keynote lecture on 'Emerging technologies impacting mankind'
The second day saw the faculty team from Kidobotikz conduct a “Logic Bot” robotics workshop for Mauritian students. With upwards of 100 students participating in this event, it was a major success.
The third was yet another day filled with action. Mr.Suhail was request to deliver yet another talk. This time he spoke on "The importance of starting right for the younger generation". The Kidobotikz team was also interviewed on-air by the Mauritian Broadcasting Corporation's Radio Channel.
Back at the stall, we had a very special guest. Mr. R. Auckbur, (E-Education & Scholarships) Tertiary & Scientific Research, Mauritian Research Council visited our stall and gave a spectacular feedback on our product. He opined favourably on the importance of introducing such innovative curriculum in classrooms. Mauritius Institute of Education, (MIE) had also shown interest to introduce robotics into their curriculum seeing the quality of our digital platform and kit.
With such favourable feedback coming from all quarters, our tour of Mauritius ended on a Positive note.
