When one observes the various students that assemble for a class or a session, one cannot help but wonder the diversity each one of them bring to the gathering. These young minds which may vary from being all knowing to all observing add a unique flavour to the classroom. While the faculty is the one who bears the brunt of the flavour these 10 somethings bring to the room, for onlookers it is always a sight to behold as knowledge dissipates through the class. Equally interesting, or amusing, is the attitudes displayed by these students. Some of them take pride in their capabilities and wares. These are the ones that teachers find hard to contain. There are still others who are quite energetic and are quite bubbly in their every activity. While teachers find it hard to control these pranksters, their towering intellect is also something that impresses one and all. Meet Chaitanya, who is defines the word energetic and intelligent.

Hey Chaitanya! Do you mind introducing yourself to our readers?

I’m Chaitanya! I’m in the 6th standard at PSBB- KK Nagar, Chennai. Here at Kidobotikz, I am half way through the Advance level.

Can you tell us what led you to join Kidobotikz?

My introduction to Kidobotikz is a rather simple story. Since I study at PSBB KK Nagar, I’ve known Kidobotikz ever since the first time they started taking classes. However, i wasn’t initially aware it was for school students like me. Then one day, I happened to receive one of the flyers of Kidobotikz. That’s when I realized this was for someone like me. I took home the brochure to my parents. My parents were a little apprehensive at first . They felt I was quite young for such a complex learning exercise. They brought me here anyways. After learning more about Kidobotikz and finding many students of my age learning robotics here, my parents got me enrolled here. It's been an exciting journey ever since. 

Interesting. So, how does it feel to be a robotics hobbyist? And what impact has Kidobotikz had on you ?

My parents may not be really happy hearing about this, but I’ll say it anyway. I love robotics more than I actually love my studies. It’s just so cool being able to build all these cool robots and experiment with concepts and get to know about them in a fundamental manner. It gives a very different perspective to my own studies. 

Moreover, Kidobotikz has also had a profound impact on me. It has made me realize that you don’t have to be a class topper to be able to understand such complex concepts.

What are your favourite kind of robots? 

My favourite robots are war robots. They represent the best of ruggedness that can be built into robots. The Drum robot is another favourite. 

What are your ambitions in life? What do you intend to do with the knowledge gained in robotics?

I have not decided where to study after my school. But I wanna be in the field of technology. I wanna become a part of a technology company like apple or google. There’s another option that I am contemplating, which is joining Kidobotikz and work on promoting robotics to more school children.
