It's time for the Maker of the Month blog, where we will reveal the next active and innovative maker from the SP Robotic Works community for the month of September 2022.
We have chosen a maker whose robotic creations are highly distinctive and extravagant, which have stood out from the crowd, and have caused some ripples in the SP Robotic Works community. The title of Maker of the Month for the September 2022 edition goes to none other than G.P Dhanish Kartikeyan.
G.P Dhanish Kartikeyan is a maker lab student from Anna Nagar, Chennai who started his robotics journey at the age of 12. Dhanish has always been curious, which drove him to learn how any machine or equipment worked, and get into the specifics of how a device operated and was developed which led him to find SP Robotic Works.
Apart from robotics and technology, Dhanish is a bright student at school who's diligent and engages himself in other activities such as sports and club activities. Dhanish is extremely fond of cricket and spends his time to better his game. Dhanish has also won a number of robotic competitions from securing 1st place in Navratri & Diwali Project challenge to 2nd place in Gandhi Jayanti Challenge and in the national level competition NCRC 2022.
So Dhanish started learning robotics during the Covid period and would engage himself in robotics after attending school online. Dhanish's favorite course from SPRW is the Codey Inventor course as it helped him get knowledge from the three domains of Electronics, Mechanical, and Coding and help him strengthen his basics to develop robots. Dhanish is also well-versed in programming languages such as Scratch, Embedded C, HTML and CSS.
Danish is one of the creative and engaged makers in the community who works on many new endeavors. He wants to launch his own company and develop products that would aid in resolving real-world problems.

Here are the 4 easiest steps to be followed if you wish to win the award:
Step 1: Be active in the SPRW Community & App
SPRW conducts various contests via its app and Facebook pages. Regularly check the SPRW app and the SP Robotics feeds page in the website & Facebook page for all conducted contests and events.
Step 2: Build a robot just in case
Well, this is the fun part. Just build robots according to the criteria specified in the problem statement. Well, you are also welcome to display your creativity in terms of the features or components used in the robots. If you make maximum use of the components from your kits, you get special brownie points during the selection process.
Step 3: Shoot the Robot- with a camera!
Well, your robot needs to be evaluated by us for you to win. So, take a video of the robot and its features and compile them into a short crisp video. Since it is going to be a monthly event, you are supposed to stick to the deadline. Oh yes, we almost forgot! Share the video with us. Just ensure that the videos are shot in a well-lit environment for the robot to appear in its resplendent form! Also, make sure you have submitted 3 or more self-projects within the span of 30 days
Step 4: Patience earns goodwill!
This is the hard part. We know you will be bristling with excitement after submitting the video. We also appreciate that you will be eager to know how you fared. But, you got to wait until we screen through all the submissions and finally declare you the winner!
